Electric handpieces have replaced air-driven ones. These drills are quiet and more precise for better patient results.

During your checkup or new patient exam, we’ll take pictures inside your mouth with a small, intraoral camera. Dr. Carrico will use these photos to explain her findings and your treatment options.

All of our treatments rooms are equipped with chairside computer monitors where you can view digital X-rays and photos of your smile, as well as educational materials. For your comfort, we have overhead DVDs of relaxing sounds and scenes to help put you at ease.

We utilize digital radiography because it emits 80% less radiation than traditional X-rays, doesn’t require the use of harsh chemicals, provides highly-detailed views that can be viewed immediately, and allows for easy transmission and storage of images.

Before you commit to treatment, Dr. Carrico may create a wax model of your smile. This will give you a glimpse of your new smile so that you can make informed choices about care.

Our non-invasive laser scans teeth for decay and locates even the smallest areas of demineralization, which are the beginnings of cavities.

Commonly called laughing gas, nitrous oxide is a soothing sedation method that alleviates anxiety and promotes a sense of calm. Dr. Carrico administers nitrous oxide upon request.

Dr. Carrico gets rave reviews for her gentle injection technique, as well as her soothing chairside manner.

Also called loupes, dental microscopes increase visibility allowing us to accurately diagnose and treat small problems before they get big. Wearing a pair of dental loupes, Dr. Carrico can easily detect small areas of decay and hairline fractures not visible to the naked eye. Early detection and treatment will prevent you from needing extensive reconstructive work in the future. Magnification ranges from 2X to 5X.

With rotary endodontics, the cutting-edge of root canal therapy, a root canal is accomplished with an electric handpiece and titanium files that have memory. The electric handpiece allows the doctor to clean and shape the canals faster than using hand files due to its constant torque and state of the art titanium files. In addition, there is no drill noise. This makes the whole treatment experience much more pleasant and much faster than conventional hand filing. Recent technological innovations such as an apex locator, electric handpiece, titanium files, an ultrasonic fiber optic cleaner, digital X-ray, and optical magnification are all advances that will make your root canal successful and painless as possible.
